Our 25 year-old Sub-Zero welcomed us home from a trip with a barely cool, not cold, refrigerator side. I found Advanced online as a factory certified repair shop and called for an appointment just a couple of days away. Their quoted rates seemed very fair ($65 for a service call, $40 to install any parts required, parts as quoted.) and the fact that they were a family company appealed to us. The founder and his wife, Joe and Donna White, showed up on time, he took the appliance apart enough to confirm their diagnosis (a fan motor and blade), called for a price quote for the parts ($147) and set a return date on the parts delivery date. Again, they were right on time, he quickly installed the new parts and demonstrated that it fixed the problem. Joe and I are both engineering graduates and got along just great! So, for a grand total of $252 (no trip charge for parts installation, just the quoted $40!) our refrigerator-freezer is humming along perfectly and we are delighted not to be facing replacement–the current model is about $10,000. Joe was not fazed in the slightest by this old, not-that-common model and he clearly knows his stuff.
